Moldova Attracts Polish Investments
OREANDA-NEWS. February 24, 2010. This was announced by the president of CCI Gheorghe Cucu, during the meeting of Moldovan and Polish businessmen held within the frameworks of the visit of the Prime Minister Vladimir Filat. The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry stressed the importance of implementing joint projects by the businessmen of both countries.
He also noted willingness of Moldova to increase exports of Moldovan wines, foodstuffs, textiles and other high quality products to Poland. The meeting brought together a group of 13 Moldovan businessmen representing companies Ionel, Farmaco, Banca de Economii, Carmez, Vinaria Bostavan, MGM, Daac Hermes Group, Moldasig, Centaur, Ecofin Audit Service, Acvila Grup, Keramin Grup, Salcuta. They discussed issues of establishing new trade-economic relations and promotion of Moldovan products to the Polish market.
The president of Polonia-Est Association Stefan Navrot stressed the interest of Polish businessmen to establish partnerships with the Moldovan colleagues for further business development.
In 2009, the trade turnover of Moldova and Poland amounted to US 121,3 million as compared to US 177.5 million the year before. In 2009, Moldovan export to Poland totaled US 33.7 million and imports- US 87,6 million, respectively. So far, CCI has signed 8 of agreements on cooperation with the Polish Chamber of Commerce.
