BCSE Announced OTC Market Results in 2009

OREANDA-NEWS. February 19, 2010. In 2009, 15 individuals and 10 legal entities got a Belarusian Quotation Automated System (BEQAS) user status. As of 01.01.2010, 550 users were registered in the system.

In 2009, the users submitted 936 indicative bids, including 775 purchase and 161 sale bids (including 40 bids submitted for realization of preemption right of OJSC to purchase own stocks). Besides, 153 bids for state-owned share holding sale were submitted.

The OTC transactions registration

In 2007, there were 9 947 transactions in the OTC market registered at the BCSE totaling to BYR 4 740 bn or 6 107 m securities, including 1363 purchase and sale transactions in stocks of closed-type JSC and 2201 transactions of other kind of OTC operations amounting to BYR 1 695  bn. 

The greatest number of registered operations was fixed with purchase and sale transactions – there were 5 697 transactions totaling to BYR 851.9 bn. The maximum volume of purchase and sale transactions in corporate bonds amounted to BYR 2 193 bn (686 transactions).

The number of professional participants operating in the OTC market reached 93.2% of companies empowered to render such services and totaled 69 companies. National Bank, Priorbank and State Property Fund of State Property Committee were the most active participants by the total volume of registered transactions. Their operation share in OTC turnover reached 61.8%.

BPS-Bank became the leader by number of registered transactions (17.98% from the total number of registered information on OTC securities transactions)

In 2009, there were 5 697 OTC purchase and sale stocks transactions registered at the BCSE. The OTC turnover amounted to BYR 851.9 bn, or 8 406.5 m stocks, that is 3.5 times bigger than the previous year (BYR 239.9 bn, or 417.7 m stocks).

The largest volume of operations was fixed with the stocks of BPS-Bank (93.6% from the total volume of purchase and sale transactions in stocks of OJSC). The leading positions by number of transactions belong to shares of Keramin, Pinsky Dairy Factory and Spartak (46.3% from the total number of purchase and sale transactions in stocks of OJSC).

In 2009, there were 686 OTC purchase and sale transactions in corporate bonds registered at the BCSE, including 498 purchase and sale transactions in bank bonds. The OTC turnover amounted to BYR 2 193 bn, or 0.59 m bonds, that is 25 times bigger than the previous year (BYR 89 bn, or 0.59 m bonds).

The leading position by corporate bonds purchase and sale transactions turnover belongs to Priorbank. The total volume of registered transactions in Priorbank’s bonds amounted to BYR 563.7 bn (25.9% from the total amount of purchase and sale transactions in bonds). The greatest number of information was registered with bonds of Savings Bank Belarusbank (134 transactions or 19.5% from the total number of OTC purchase and sale transactions in bonds).
