OREANDA-NEWS. February 19, 2010. The event was attended by journalists, chief executives of managing companies, and the partnerships of housing owners (PHO) of the city of Pervouralsk — PHO Beregovaya, MC Danilovskaya, and MC Uralagrostroy. The participants discussed the first joint steps in implementation of ROSNO’s program "Housing Insurance". In addition, journalists were introduced to the program and its results from the date of its launch in Pervouralsk, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

Opening the roundtable discussion, Ms. Tatyana Petrova, director of ROSNO’s Pervouralsk Agency, paid attention to the demand from Pervouralsk residents as regards the protection of their property. "Just in the first two months after launch of the program, over 30% of those residents who were sent receipts with an offer of voluntary insurance concluded contracts for insurance coverage of their housing. Also, we get many calls from apartment owners asking us to increase insurance amounts to 200,000 roubles and higher. We are ready to meet their demands and offer them individual insurance terms", she underscored.

On his part, Mr. Viktor Ignatushkin, director of MC Danilovskoye, noted that, prior to offering residents to insure their property, the managing company "Danilovskoye" insured its liability to residents and liability to the company employees against accidents. "This is how we put ourselves as an example and explain residents that insurance is a civilized protection tool preventing many problems related to restoration of damaged property", he said. "In addition, such insurance scheme disciplines residents in terms of timely payment for communal services, since, in case of non-payment for communal services, the insurance premium paid is set off to reduce the amount of indebtedness for communal services. Therefore, insurance protection is not effective unless communal services have been paid in full".

At present, over 500 families residing in Pervouralsk have concluded voluntary housing insurance contracts under the program. The project is supported by MC Danilovskoye, PHO Danilovskoye, PHO Beregovaya, and MC Uralagrostroy. In total, Pervouralsk residents were sent 1,638 receipts.
