Kaluga Turbine Works Completed Order for Iranian Power Plant
OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2010. Kaluga Turbine Works (KTZ), a branch of Power Machines company, produced power equipment for Shakhid Montazeri thermal power plant in Esfahan, Iran.
KTZ signed a contract for the procurement of two gas expansion turbines (turboexpanders) of 8 MW capacity each, with Iranian Esfahan Power Maintenance Company, which is the main contractor for the project, in July 2008.
These power saving expansion turbines are used to convert the excessive differential pressure of the natural gas into mechanical energy. The equipment will be installed at gas distribution points of the Shakhid Montazeri TPP. These turboexpander units will allow to increase the total capacity of the plant by 16 MW and thus to provide Esfahan city with more power.
Successful manufacture of the turboexpanders for Iranian power plant was a pilot project completed by KTZ. Participating in it will enable the company to enter this highly attractive and promising market.
