OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2010. CROC continues with its development of the first EMC Solution Center in Russia and the CIS by implementing a flexible virtual data center. Now also incorporating Dell hardware, CROC's EMC Solution Center gives customers the opportunity to test virtual solutions.

"Today, virtualization does not only help cut infrastructure-related costs. Such technology is also increasing in popularity as a result of growing interest amongst the majority of Russian corporations in cloud computing, which is impossible without a virtual environment. Taking this development into account, we have scheduled a series of seminars at the Solution Center in order to introduce new technologies, with the next seminar being held on February 18th," announced Ruslan Zaedinov, Head of Data Center Division, CROC.

The virtual data center deployed at CROC's EMC Solution Center is based on vSphere, the latest version of the VMWare platform, and Dell PowerEdge M1000e Blade Enclosures. The center uses PowerEdge DELL M610 and PowerEdge M710 servers which are specifically designed for virtual environments and which streamline virtual environment performance, improve energy efficiency, and reduce data center infrastructure TCO.

Virtual data center structure includes Cisco Nexus 1000V network switch and EMC CLARiiON CX4-240 disk arrays. ЕМС Avamar, a technology incorporated into the solution, allows for a significant increase in speed and efficiency of virtual machine backup via de-duplication.
