OREANDA-NEWS. February 17, 2010. In Mykolayiv, on shipbuilding yard “Wadan Yards Okean” launching of two river-sea barges for NIBULON was held.

This event marked the completion of the contract for construction of 16 non-self-propelled vessels that was signed by the management of NIBULON and OJSC “Wadan Yards Okean” on the 6th of March last year. Nowadays under the terms of a new contract of the companies it is expected the next 8 non-self-propelled vessels to be launched. Till April 2010 NIBULON’s fleet will consist of 24 vessels.

General Director of NIBULON, Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Opanasovych Vadaturskyy and General Director of OJSC “Wadan Yards Okean”, Hero of Ukraine M. P. Romanchuk received a pleasant gift from the city community - cooperative victory in the “Man of the Year” in the nomination “Investment-Innovation Project of the Year” on the eve of the holiday.

 “Our cooperation has not remained unnoticed in Ukraine, - said OleksiyOpanasovych. - The community knows about the great deal that we do for the country, despite the fact that today many people have a desire to make mischief between our collectives and to prove everyone that our work is unnecessary and nobody needs it. But we find the strength to resist these gossips and continue working productively for the benefit of our country”.  

Talking about future cooperation of NIBULON and OJSC “Wadan Yards Okean”, O.O.Vadaturskyy said that everything is just at the beginning, and he shared plans about construction of self-propelled vessels and tugs with reporters. Company’s fleet will furrow the waters of the Dnipro river, the Don river, the Volga, and the Caspian and Black Seas. “I hope that 8 non-self-propelled vessels of the second series will be constructed in the same rapid pace. You encourage us to new ideas and achievements constructing quickly and efficiently.  The construction of river terminal in “Kamyanka-Dniprovs’ka” town (Zaporizhzhya region) is in a full swing. Final preparations to simultaneous start of the construction of 4 elevators in Poltava are being completed: in Gradyz’k, Artemivka, Maryanivka and Kremenchuk. Construction of elevators in Dnipropetrovs’k, Kirovograd, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsya regions is planned”- said General Director of NIBULON.

The press is also interested in the the issue of operating capacity of non-self-propelled vessels. According to O.O. Vadaturskyy these vessels adequately serve to benefit of the company. These are high-quality ice-class vessels. There were days when they worked in the hummocks of ice with thickness of a meter. You are welcome to our terminal and assure yourself personally”.

“Shipbuilding in the union of “sickle and hammer”- it is really an innovation for Ukraine - General Director of OJSC “Wadan Yards Okean” M. P. Romanchuk noted. - Today, Russian, Canadian, Italian, Spanish companies ask our drawings of these non-self-propelled vessels. This fact demonstrates the demand for such kind of vessels, their necessity and relevance in a modern economy. 16 non-self-propelled vessels in 8 months - this is our schedule. We hope to maintain this pace in the construction of the next 8 vessels.

Honorary duty of Godmothers this time was given to the Head of purchasing department O.M. Timoshchenko and Deputy Head of accounting and reporting M.I. Ponura. The election of these candidates is not accidental, since Olga Myhaylivna and Maria Ivanivna work in the company for more than 15 years. And today’s success of the company is also their merit.

According to O.O.Vadaturskyy  this day all the present witnessed a unique event - a true “elevator on water” with deadweight of 72 thousands tons: “Such capacity of grain you can put in these non-self-propelled vessels at the same time, storage condition of agricultural products are identical to elevator ones. During construction of these vessels yard used as much metal as it is used for “PANAMAX” type. And today it equals launching of the vessel of “PANAMAX” type with deadweight of 70 thousands tons of grain like the famous vessel “PREVENTER”.

We can only be proud of the courage and diligence of honest citizens of the city of Mykolayiv, real heroes of Ukraine. For those who want to work, who want to revive the Ukrainian fleet and Ukrainian agriculture, who is unindifferent about the fate of the native state, there is no bad weather, there is no economic crisis. And the artificial barriers that today are put on the way of the development of these enterprises should be destroyed by honor, truth and devotion to country.
