OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2010. The regular session of Ulan-Udenskaya CHPP-1 project headquarters was held in Ulan-Ude. The meeting was attended by the project originator – OAO “TGK-14” and general contractor - JSC “Engineering Center UES”. The headquarters session was devoted to technical re-equipment of Ulan-Udenskaya CHPP-1 with replacement of turbo unit Tp-100/110-8,8. Work progress and the upcoming milestones were discussed.

The attendees noted that all the work related to design development and installation of energy equipment is in line with the previously approved schedule. Currently, “Engineering Center UES” is carrying on construction of the upper structure of turbo unit foundation. The turbine condenser was delivered to the site before the target date and has already been installed in design position.

Contracts have been signed for electrical work and installation of thermal and mechanical equipment. In February this year, experts from “Engineering Center UES”, jointly with representatives of OAO “TGK-14”, made an inspection tour of ZAO “Urals Turbine Works” in order to check the process of turbine manufacture for Ulan-Udenskaya CHPP-1. It was noted during the visit that the work is progressing according to the set schedule.

“Engineering Center UES” continues equipping the CHPP-1 balance of plant with automated process control system; installation of backup excitation system for turbo unit 6 and 7 is also in progress. JSC NPO “ELSIB” is the supplier of turbo unit backup excitation system. It will be reminded that “Engineering Center UES” was selected general contractor for technical re-equipment of Ulan-Udenskaya CHPP-1 with the replacement of turbo unit Tp-100/110-8,8. The contract includes the design work, supply and installation of turbo unit 7 equipment; installation of automated process control system for the turbo unit and BOP and startup and adjustment operations.

“Engineering Center UES” is implementing remodeling of the outdated systems and equipment at CHPP-1 in order to improve the reliability of the whole energy facility and provide for the operation of the new equipment to be installed in the cell of turbo unit number 7. As a result of work carried out at Ulan-Udenskaya CHPP-1, its capacity will grow up to 147,9 MW, reliability of power supply to energy consumers will enhance and overall CHPP-1 performance will improve considerably.
