OREANDA-NEWS. February 15, 2010. Irkut Corporation disprove the information published in mass-media that the President of Irkut, the Chairman of Board of directors of JSC "Aviastar-SP" has suggested to curtail the Tu-204CM program.

Tu-204CM passenger plane is developed by Tupolev Company and produced by JSC "Aviastar-SP" (Ulyanovsk). Creation and the organization of a serial production of Tu-204CM plane is provided by the Federal target program "Development of civil aviation machinery of Russia for 2002 - 2010 and till 2015", confirmed by the governmental decree.

Now design documentation for the plane manufacture is transferred to the “Aviastar-SP”. The enterprise masters production of the constructive elements of Tu-204CM distinguishing it from serial Tu-204 planes.

The President of Irkut Oleg Demchenko, elected as the Chairman of Board of Directors of JSC "Aviastar-SP" on the 28th of January 2010, says: “Manufacture of Tu-204CM is one of priority tasks of “Aviastar-SP”. First planes will be delivered to the customer in the middle of 2011”.
