OREANDA-NEWS. February 12, 2010. Mr.Nursultan Nazarbayev, Head of state received Mr.Askar Zhumagaliyev, Chairman of the Board of Kazakhtelecom JSC, who presented report on main results of company’s activity for 2009, at his “Ak Orda” residence, reported the press-centre of Kazakhtelecom.

Kazakhtelecom JSC continued its active work on satisfying people’s needs in telephones installation in cities and rural areas in 2009. By results of 2009 the number of fixed lines on company’s network composed over 3 millions 600 thousands. Telephone density by the republic exceeded in average 23 numbers for 100 residents. 

By project of upgrading and development of rural communication using wireless access technology the network capacity CDMA-450 composed over  245 thousand subscribers. About 400 base stations installed totally by the republic.

Realization of Program for broadband Internet access development continued in 2009. In result number of Internet users in Kazakhtelecom JSC network exceeded 1 million 800 thousand. From them over 1 million 400 thousands are users of broadband Internet. Growth as compared with 2008 composed 215%.

Within the meeting Mr.Askar Zhumagaliyev informed on future company’s plans by telecommunication market development.
