OREANDA-NEWS. February 11, 2010. On 22 January 2010 Gazprom VNIIGAZ LLC held the third meeting of Gas Group devoted to the 75th anniversary of A.I. Gritsenko, scientist and reformator, doctor of technical sciences, professor, corresponding member of RAS and former director general of Gazprom VNIIGAZ LLC in 1977-2000.

The meeting was attended by more than fifty people, including guests of honour from the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil & Gas, Oil & Gas Research Institute, OAO “VNIIneft”, Moscow State University, veterans of gas industry and specialists of Gazprom VNIIGAZ LLC.

Roman Samsonov, Director General of Gazprom VNIIGAZ LLC, opened the Gas Group meeting.

“We are very glad that VNIIGAZ begins 2010 with the meeting with A.I. Gritsenko, well-known and outstanding scientist, whose extensive expertise serves the cause of our Institute for a long period of time”, outlined Mr. Samsonov in the welcome address.

Informal meeting of gas industry specialists continued with the showing of the film about longstanding research activity of Mr. Gritsenko, his merits and achievements. Mr. Yakushev, the academic secretary of Gazprom VNIIGAZ LLC, spoke about the beginning of “Era of Gritsenko” in VNIIGAZ, his role in establishment and development of the institute and science. Roman Samsonov presented Mr. Gritsenko with memorable photo of founders of Gazprom concern and VNIIGAZ directors: R.I. Vyakherev, V.S. Chernomyrdin, G.D. Margulov, A.I Gritsenko, R.M. Ter-Sarkisov, R.O. Samsonov, and handled letter of gratitude to Mr. Gritsenko.

During the Gas Group meeting Mr. Gritsenko gave a detailed personal view on the development of gas chemistry in the Russian Federation. His presentation was greatly supported by guests of the Gas Group. Colleagues and coworkers expressed gratitude to Mr. Gritsenko for understanding up-to-date tasks and challenges of the national gas chemistry.

Comments and wishes for many happy returns of active scientific creativity were given to Mr. Gritsenko by chief research associates of Gazprom VNIIGAZ LLC: Z.T. Galiullin and S.N. Buzinov, Director of the Department “Gas and Liquid Hydrocarbons Processing” A.V. Mamaev, President of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil & Gas A.I. Vladimirov and Head of the University Department A.I. Ermolayev, corresponding members of RAS A.L. Lapidus and V.P. Meshalkin, Deputy Director General of OAO “VNIIneft” named after Krylov S.A. Zhdanov, Deputy Head of Gazprom’s Department E.N. Pronin and others.

At the end of the meeting Director General of Gazprom VNIIGAZ LLC Mr. Samsonov thanked guests for active participation in the work of the Group and stressed the main topics of further meetings.

The Gas Group meeting was accompanied by exhibition of publications authored or co-authored by Mr. Gritsenko and issued by VNIIGAZ since the mid nineties of the last century. By request of the Group’s guests and specialists of the Institute Mr. Gritsenko organized a small autograph session.
