OREANDA-NEWS. February 10, 2010. Air Moldova airline, following the results January, 2010, transported 27160 passengers, that on 5% is more in comparison with the similar period of 2009, reported the press-centre of Air Moldova.

The greatest growth of a volume of passenger traffic is noted on such directions as St-Petersburg (+13%), Moscow (+2%) and Frankfurt(+2%).

Implemented airline marketing initiatives, attracted new, not previously existed on the airline market in Moldova, passengers who used the flights Air Moldova from Moscow and St.-Petersburg to Europe by stopping over in the Chisinau International Airport that becomes a transit airport. In January, 2010 Air Moldova carried 240 transit passengers via hub in Chisinau.

This became possible thanks to the introduction of the through fares for transit flights from biggest Russian cities Moscow and St.-Petersburg to European capitals since June 2009.

Air Moldova carries out flights in 16 direct directions – Frankfurt, Vienna, Bucharest, Istanbul, Lisbon, Madrid, London, Athens, Larnaka, Rome, Milan, Verona, Paris, Prague, Moscow, St.-Petersburg. On a share Air Moldova have more than 50 % of air transportations registered on the Moldavian market.

During summer period, Air Moldova is to be opened a new destination – Chisinau-Sochi.
