OREANDA-NEWS. February 10, 2010. The Minister of Transport and Communications, Eligijus Masiulis, met a representative of an Irish low-cost airline “Ryanair”, responsible for a route development. During the meeting, the perspectives of activities of the airline company in the Lithuanian airports were discussed.

The representative of “Ryanair” presented the Ministry about company’s plans on development of direct flights from Kaunas airport, and expressed his interest in possibilities to operate in other airports of Lithuania as well.

“Possibilities of direct air communication between the Lithuanian airports and other European cities are increasing. We see that the measures and plans already implemented by us help to make the work of the national airports more efficient and to attract airline companies that are expanding the geography of flight directions and considering further development plans. Airline companies see perspectives of working in the airports of the state”, Eligijus Masiulis said.

The low-cost airline “Ryanair” announced that from this spring on, they shall start flying from Kaunas airport to Bristol (United Kingdom). Meanwhile, “Ryanair” flies to 7 directions from Kaunas airport.
