OREANDA-NEWS. February 09, 2010. "Aeroexpo"  is the name of a new "Lenexpo" project which will be conducted on August 12-15, 2010.

It will include the International Forum "Regional aviation, general aviation  - strategy of growth"    and International Exhibition of regional aviation and aeronautics "Aeroexpo".

We asked the exhibition director, a military helicopter pilot, lieutenant colonel in reserve Viktor Boychenko to tell us about the new event.

-Our project does not have any analog in Russia. This exhibition will be the only one in the country focused on GA (general aviation) and its problems. In accordance with the Air Codex of the Russia Federation "general aviation" is the official term used for all small aviation.

However, we have recently started to work on this new project; it has already aroused great interest. Our exposition will contain almost all GA aircrafts including foreign models.

In the middle of August "Lenexpo" will demonstrate GA (or so-called regional aviation) and extra- light aviation models, hydroplanes, helicopters, autogyro and motor -hang gliders. We also hope to bring some airships. They are a very perspective business nowadays. 

The exhibition will bring to your attention modern means of search-and-rescue, "unmanned" aircrafts, sport aviation from DOSAAF, private clubs and model constructors.

I do not want to reveal all secrets now, let's make them a pleasant surprise for the visitors of "Aeroexpo".  Just want to tell you that we are planning to make an exciting air show above the "Lenexpo" water area and Sea Port. The demonstrations will be performed every day from 12 to 15 of August. Many public figures, passionate aviation lovers, will attend this event.  St. Petersburg magazine "Baltic Wings" and Ukrainian " GA" (general aviation) will become the official exhibition and forum informational partners.

Our exhibition project is planned to become not only a demonstration platform but a place for discussions. The sphere of GA has a lot of problems. But the right solutions can be reached only after there will be formed some conjoint positions. They are the aim of our business program. We will discuss the problems of regional and general aviation, aeronautics and airship building, trying to find some solutions, and then bring them to our legislative and executive authorities.
