Gomselmash Expands Dealership Chain in 2009
OREANDA-NEWS. February 09, 2010. In 2009 the Belarusian mechanical engineering company Gomselmash set up seven dealerships in Russia, Gomselmash Deputy Director General for Quality Valentin Mishchenko said.
At present the company’s overseas dealership network includes 68 dealerships in 12 countries in addition to 18 dealerships in Belarus provinces.
The dealerships are set up in Russia, Ukraine, China, Czechia, Bulgaria and several other countries mainly with a view to boosting Gomselmash sales. On the other hand, the dealerships offer pre-sale preparation of the machines as well as maintenance and aftersales service. The availability of this extensive system of maintenance and aftersales service allows satisfying customer’s demands for quality machinery, thus expanding the presence of Belarusian machines on foreign markets, remarked Valentin Mishchenko.
Each dealership can set up three teams and more to respond to customers that report malfunctions. The response teams are sent out to customers during harvesting campaigns. First and second degree malfunctions are fixed within 24 hours.
After agricultural work is over, the machines in use of customers are examined by specialists of Gomselmash and its dealerships to compile a list of spare parts required to put all harvesters back in action by the harvesting season.
According to Valentin Mishchenko, aftersales servicing of Gomselmash machinery abroad can be quite expensive but looks like the only solution fit to respond to rising competition on the market.
Founded in 1978, the manufacturing corporation Gomselmash stems from the plant Gomselmash that was founded in 1930. The Gomel-based mechanical engineering company is one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural machines in the CIS and Europe. Gomselmash offers self-propelled and towed harvesters and mowing crushers, grain harvesters, mounted mower-shredders, potato harvesters.
