OREANDA-NEWS. February 09, 2010. Kazakhtelecom JSC, the leading Kazakhstan telecoms operator announces results of republican SMS-action "The whole world for Megaliner!". Saule Okanovna Shalabayeva, resident of Pavlodar won family trip to the Mediterranean cruise for three persons, reported the press-centre of Kazakhtelecom.

During the action from 1 November to 31 December 2009 user of any of four Kazakh cellular operators (K-cell, Beeline, Altel, Neo) could send sms with word Megaline to short number 3505 and participate in prizes drawing. Within the action 2000 adsl-modems, `00 notebooks, 100 video cameras, 50 photo cameras and 30 000 certificates for 100% discount to one-time fee for Megaline connection have been drawn on-line. Cost of 1 sms was 15 tenge.

The main prize is family trip to Mediterranean cruise for three persons– has been drawn on 26 January 2010 amongst the participants, connected to the service. Drawing held in presence of special commission in Central department of Kazakhtelecom JSC in Almaty by means of casual selection. List of participants has been downloaded to e-program "Lototron". This software emulates work of prize drum, sorting the list of participants by alphabet in closed cycle. Chairman of the commission started the “drum" and stopped it in casual moment, in result winner of action has been determined, this is Saule Okanovna Shalabayeva, resident of Pavlodar.

Over 130 thousand sms has been received during the action, number of connected subscribers today composed over 9 thousand subscribers, orders from almost 4 thousand subscribers are always in the process of connection. At that the most active participants became residents of Karaganda, North Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan and Akmola oblasts.

By results of research of independent research company ICT-Marketing, specialized on researches in the sphere of IT and telecommunications, number of Internet users to the end of 2009 in Kazakhstan composes 3,16 millions or 19,8% of population of Republic of Kazakhstan. 8 of 10 households with Internet connect to global network with help of Megaline". By results of 2009 total number of broadband Internet users of Kazakhtelecom JSC is 1,4 millions.
