OREANDA-NEWS. February 08, 2010. The urgent measures to be taken to fulfill the tasks set by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to implement the complex programme on the development of Ashgabat were discussed during a meeting which was conducted at the Ashgabat Khyakimlik. The meeting brought together the cabinet ministers, the representatives of the khyakimliks of Ashgabat and its etraps, sectoral ministries, departments, communal service enterprises and institutions and public organisations.

As is known, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov recently made the working trip round Ashgabat to see the progress in implementing the important projects on urban development and further improvement of urban environment in the city and its suburbs. During this trip the President reviewed the final draft project aimed at enhancing reliability of power supply to the capital developed by the consortium of companies Enex process engineering SA (Belgium) and Schneider Electric (French Republic) on the instructions of the Turkmen leader. The Ministry of Energy and Industry of Turkmenistan and the consortium signed the agreement on the implementation of this project upon the results of the Turkmen-French talks in Paris during the Turkmen leader’s official visit to the French Republic.

The participants discussed the plan of actions aimed at implementing this large-scale project that would allow renewing completely the power supply system in Ashgabat. Emphasis was put on the measures to be taken to ensure strict control of the quality and compliance with the period of construction.
