OREANDA-NEWS. February 08, 2010. Switzerland will provide 5.8 million Swiss francs (about 4 million euros) for implementation of the “Water and Health in Moldova” (ApaSan) project.

The Ministry of Environment of Moldova signed the memorandum-agreement with the Development and Cooperation Agency of Switzerland on the ApaSan project.

The project’s main objective is to contribute to improvement of quality of life and health of Moldova’s rural population by improving access to the high-quality drinking water, teaching population and suppliers to plan, project, implement and manage the respective services, InfoMarket was informed at the Ministry.

Switzerland will invest about 4 million francs (2.7 million euros) and the Austrian Development Agency co-financing the project – 1.8 million francs (1.22 million euros) at the initial stage of the project.
