Severstal to Supply Large-Diameter Pipes for ESPO-II
OREANDA-NEWS. February 05, 2010. Severstal today announces that it will supply large-diameter pipes for the 2nd phase of the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) oil pipeline. When completed, the pipeline will carry oil to Russia’s Far East and Asia-Pacific markets. The first deliveries from the ESPO pipeline (1st phase) are due to commence in March 2010, according to Dmitry Goroshkov, Director of Sales at CherMK.
Mr. Gorshkov commented:
“In 2010, Severstal will continue to develop its partnership with OJSC “AK Transneft”. In addition to already supplying large-diameter pipes for Transneft’s construction of the BTS-2 oil pipeline, Severstal will also supply large-diameter pipes for the construction of the 2nd phase of the ESPO pipeline project. As a result, over 130,000 tonnes of large-diameter pipes are to be supplied by Severstal for the construction of the ESPO (2nd phase) oil pipeline system in 2010-2011.”
Severstal has also signed an additional contract with OJSC “AK Transneft” to supply over 35, 000 tonnes of large-diameter pipes for the construction of the Pur-Pe-Samotlor, pipeline system. The Purpe-Samotlor pipeline system has been constructed by Transneft to link the Western and Eastern segments of Russia’s pipeline system.
