OREANDA-NEWS. February 05, 2010. By the order of the Head of the Republic of Karelia Sergey Katanandov there has been established a working group on formation of the list of infrastructural objects offered in territory of Karelia within the framework of the program of cross-border cooperation between the Russian Federation and European Communities.

The new Karelia program of cross-border cooperation with the total budget of 46,4 million euros has been launched quite recently. It assumes implementation of projects which interest both Russian frontier territories, and our neighbours on the other side of the border. These are projects on development of territory, construction and reconstruction of roads, ecology, tourism and a number of other spheres. This program will also provide financing of large investment projects which can make frontier territories more convenient and equipped for further cooperation.

Sergey Katanandov has established a special working group directed by the Assistant to the Prime Minister of the Government Valery Momotov that should prepare and offer the Head of the Republic the list of such objects to include them in the program. This work will allow Karelia to involve unappropriated means to solve many essential tasks.
