OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2010. Belarus’ average wage in nominal terms reached 1,093,000 Belarusian rubles (Br) [equivalent to USD 381] in December 2009, an official with the National Statistics Committee told.

In real terms [adjusted for the increase in the consumer prices], the average monthly wage went up 6.5% on the month. In 2009, the average wage decreased 0.4% on the year in real terms.

The average wage in Minsk reached 1.507 million rubles in December, in the Minsk Region 1.032 million rubles, in the Gomel Region 1.023 million rubles, in the Grodno Region 988,700 rubles, in the Brest Region 969,500 rubles, in the Mogilev Region 938,800 rubles, and in the Vitebsk Region 942,400 rubles.

In manufacturing, monthly wages averaged 1.188 million rubles, in construction 1.48 million rubles, in transport 1.238 million rubles, in telecoms 1.191 million rubles, in agriculture 836,900 rubles, in trade and public catering 1.002 million rubles, in healthcare 840,800 rubles, in education 750,700 rubles, in science 1.788 million rubles, in sports 1.643 million rubles, and in culture 795,900 rubles.
