Uralmashplant Obtains ISO 9001:2008 Certificate of Registration
OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2010. The quality management system introduced at Uralmashplant JSC demonstrates full conformity with ISO 9001:2008 requirements and the plant obtains ISO 9001:2008 certificate of registration (Prior to that Uralmashplant was ISO 9001:2000-certified).
Independent certification body Bureau Veritas has held the procedure. The certificate is valid till January the 7th 2011.
The scope of registration has been expanded in the course of the audit. By now it includes drilling equipment design.
Thus the certificate covers design and manufacturing of drilling equipment; metallurgical equipment including rolls for hot and cold rolling-mills; non-ferrous metallurgy equipment, mining equipment, equipment for pulp-and-paper, chemical and power industries as well as manufacturing of hoisting-and-handling equipment, handling-and-process equipment and nuclear power plant equipment.
The audit has identified no nonconformities with quality management system at Uralmashplant. In addition to the effectiveness of QMS within Uralmashplant and full conformity of QMS with applicable standards the auditor noted use of automation controls as well as modernization policy adopted at the plant.
Boris Belman, first deputy general director, says: "Uralmashplant demonstrates conformity of its QMS with ISO 9001:2008 requirements and expands the scope of registration which allows the facility to design drilling equipment and to address its strategic objectives".
