The average monthly wage in the same period in the real sector of economy increased by 4.3 percent – to 2,946.2 leis (US 235.7). In particular, in December 2009, the average monthly wage of an employee of the national economy of Moldova was 3322.3 leis (US 265.8), up 10.7 percent against the last year’s December.

The average monthly wage in the public field of Moldova in December 2009 increased by 34.7 percent in comparison with December 2008 – to 2,944.4 leis (US 235.5), that in the real sector – by 3.2 percent – to 3,549.6 leis (US 284). The largest average monthly wage in Moldova in 2009 was paid to employees of the bank and financial sector – 5,630 leis (US 450.4), the least – to employees of agriculture and forestry – 1,454 leis (US 116.3), fish industry – 1,628 leis (US 130.2), education – 2.137 leis (US 170.9).
