OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2010. For the past year power export of the country exceeded import in both volume (5.3-fold) and value terms (5.45-fold).

Over 2008 export exceeded import by 3.03 fold in volume and 2.6 fold in value terms. In 2007 power import exceeded export in volume 1.75 fold and was less in value terms by 2.42 fold.

The State Customs Committee (SCC) reports that in 2009 the country exported 710.4 million kWh of power for US27.939 million and imported 133.9 million kWh for US 5.126 million.

In 2008, export totaled 808.8 million kWh for US 27.357 million and import made 266.5 million kWh for US 10.5 million. For comparison: in 2007 Azerbaijan exported 443.3 million kWh of power for US 9.666 million and imported 773.7 million kWh for US 23.4 million.

Over 2009, average power export price made up US 0.0393 per kWh and import price US 0.0383 per kWh.

Average power export price made US 0.0338 per kWh and import price US 0.0395, in 2008 and US 0.0218 and US 0.0303 respectively in 2007.
