OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2010. PrivatBank became the very first Ukrainian banking brand that had been awarded with the "generally known" status. The above decision was approved by UKRPATENT's Council of Appeal. As for UKRPATENT's information, there are only 34 generally-known companies among more than hundred thousand registered trademarks, and there was none the banking one hitherto.

The "generally known" status provides the trademark's owner with absolute (maximum) legal defence and substantually increases the value of the object's intellectual property as the company's non-material assets.

During the research on banking services for idividual clients, GFK Ukraine interviewed 3'000 respondents. The sample represents the Ukraine population older than 16 years old, selected by gender, region of residence and residential place size. The poll was held by means of personal interviewing.
