Crisis Doesn’t Hinder Modernization in Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2010. “Lean Production” seminar and conference organized by KAMAZ Inc. and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the city were held in Naberezhnye Chelny. The representatives of the Tatarstan Government headed by Ravil Zaripov, Minister of Industry and Commerce, as well as the managers of the largest Tatarstan enterprises participated in it.
As the organizers noted, such an event was especially urgent in the current situation when the global financial crisis had hit almost all Russian economic sectors. The task of the seminar was to help the managers of the large enterprises go out of the recession with minimum losses.
The main area of discussion was the issues of adoption of lean production technologies at domestic industrial plants, the most effective process organization methods, conformation of these processes to the European quality standards.
The program of the seminar included a visit to KAMAZ objects with the purpose of emonstration of methods and results of the implementated KAMAZ Production System. The guests visited CUMMINS KAMA Joint Venture, OAO KAMAZ-Diesel and Automobile Plant.
Besides, the trainers of the Russian Lean School Michael (USA) and Aleksey Baranov (Yekaterinburg) held master classes in the KAMAZ General Directorate.
Within the limits of the seminar a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the RT and the Japanese center was signed. Ravil Zaripov, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the RT, and Oisi Sohei, Director of the Japanese center, signed the document.
