Vyksa Steel Works Reports Its Operating Results for 2009
OREANDA-NEWS. February 01, 2010. Vyksa Steel Works (VSW, Nizhni Novgorod Region), part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK), has reported its operating results for 2009, reported the press-centre of OMK.
In 2009, VSW produced 1,500 510 tonnes of pipes of various grades, which is 7.5% more than in 2008 (1,395,058 tonnes). VSW manufactured 967,235 tonnes of large-diameter pipes (LDP), which is 31.6% more than in 2008 (734,961 tonnes). The VSW Wheel Rolling Facility produced 433,100 railroad wheels.
In December 2009, VSW produced 138,142 tonnes of pipes of various grades, which is 31% more than in December 2008 (94,730 tonnes). VSW manufactured 101,171 tonnes of large-diameter pipes (LDP), which is 33% more than in December last year (67,394 tonnes). The VSW Wheel Rolling Facility produced 40,969 railroad wheels.
“In 2009, we used our accumulated potential,” explained OMK Vice President and VSW Executive Director Vladimir Kochetkov. “Today, VSW manufactures high-quality high-tech products that are in demand and meet the world’s best corporate standards. We successfully filled important orders of our counterparties. Our production for the projects Nord Stream and Central Asia–China was totally controlled in terms of production technology and the entire system. Our success primarily results from our well thought-out investment policy aimed at technical upgrading of our facilities, constructing new workshops, and rehabilitating existing ones. At present, VSW in its operations complies with standards adhered to by the world’s and Europe’s leading companies.”
