OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2010. A working meeting between Deputy Minister for Oil of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Noghrehkar Shirazi and the Chairman of Gazprom Neft Management Board Alexander Dyukov was held within the framework of the panel session of the Russian-Iranian work group for cooperation in the sphere of oil, gas and petrochemistry.

In the course of the meeting, the parties expressed interest in strengthening of cooperation in the sphere of the Iranian Azar and Changuleh oil fields development. In particular, the feasibility study of the project should be agreed upon before end of IQ2010. Earlier, in November 2009, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Gazprom Neft and the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) implying joint development of the two oil fields.
