OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2010. Allianz ROSNO Life and the Charity Fund "Centre for Assistance to Homeless Children" of the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry have signed a cooperation agreement. The parties to the agreement aims to join efforts to support orphaned and homeless children pursuant to the social project "Podarok Rebenku"(Gift to a Child) implemented by Allianz ROSNO Life. Along with other aspects, the cooperation will involve promotion of the social project among regional business associations. The agreement signing ceremony was held on 25 January in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

Implemented by Allianz ROSNO Life since 2008, the social project "Gift to a Child" aims to attract charity funds to accumulative life insurance to the benefit of orphaned children and homeless children.

Pursuant to the project, benefactors (whether private individuals or companies), instead of direct monetary contributions, buy accumulative life insurance policies in favour of the children selected for participation by education departments or special authorized funds. Allianz ROSNO Life acts as the guarantor in terms of forming and accumulating funds with subsequent payment of the final amount to the children participating in the project. The main idea behind the project is that, once the child turns 18, he or she receives the adult’s starting capital that can be spent in any of the following ways: university tuition, necessary medical treatment, or first installment for the purchased housing.

Overall, in 2008 and 2009, about 100 children received accumulative life insurance policies under the project "Gift to a Child". In May 2009, the project "Gift to a Child" was awarded with Russia’s sole national insurance premium "Golden Salamander" in the nomination "Social Project of the Year 2008".

The solemn ceremony dedicated to the signing of the agreement was attended by Mr. Leonid Romanov, Director General of the Charity Fund "Centre for Assistance to Homeless Children" of the RF Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Maxim Chernin, CEO of Allianz ROSNO Life, and Ms. Zinaida Myakina, Deputy CEO of Allianz ROSNO Life.

"Today our social project „Gift to a Child“ is being actively implemented throughout Krasnodar Kraj, Perm Kraj, the Rostov Region, the Irkutsk Region, the Kirov Region, the Ryazan Region, the Kaliningrad Region and the Republic of Sakha, and it is prepared to be launched in several other large regions of the Russian Federation. We are certain that the support from the Charity Fund „Centre for Assistance to Homeless Children“ of the RF Chamber of Commerce will enable us to speed up the federal-scale launch of the project and engage tens of new participants in each and every corner of the country, and help more homeless children in 2010", commented Mr. Maxim Chernin, CEO of Allianz ROSNO Life.
