SOCAR to Remove 82 Tons of Metallic Structures from Caspian Area
OREANDA-NEWS. January 26, 2010. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is ready to continue cleaning of Caspian water area from metallic structures used earlier for oil and gas production in 2010.
Company’s vice president for environment Mukhtar Babayev says that the Company is ready to become an authorized organization on cleaning of the Baku Bay water area.
“We can draw to this work our sub-companies Ecol Engineering and SOCAR-ASM,” Babayev emphasized.
At the same time the Company owns less part of balance of infrastructure and vessels in the Baku Bay.
“In 2009, we removed 42,000 tons of metallic structures from the Caspian water area and in 2010 expect to extract 82,000 tons,” Babayev said.
