On 31 December, 2009 and 1 January, 2010 the number of telephone calls made by Bakcell customers increased by 64% compared to an average ordinary day.

Over those two days Bakcell subscribers made phone-calls with a total duration of almost 20 million minutes, which is 36% more than last year.

On 31 December, 2009 and 1 January, 2010 Bakcell subscribers sent nearly 16 million SMS’s which is 80% more than on an average non-festive day and 84% more than the same figure for those two days last year.

On 31 December, 2009 and 1 January, 2010 Bakcell subscribers received 19 million SMS’s which is 43% more than on an average non-festive day and 90% more than the same figure for those two days last year.

In the last 12 months Bakcell has significantly expanded and enhanced its network and more than doubled its coverage into every region of Azerbaijan. Bakcell also offers high-speed internet on the basis of EDGE technology.
