OREANDA-NEWS. January 26, 2010. JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines has received the ninth А330-200 airplane by Airbus.  The aircraft was named after Aleksandr Tvardovsky, a Russian writer and poet, chief editor of Novy Mir (New World) literary magazine in 1950—1954 and 1958—1970, laureate of the State Prize of the Soviet Union, laureate of three Stalin Prizes and three Lenin Prizes, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

This is the ninth aircraft of this type received under an operational leasing contract. The leasing company is AerCap. By April 2010, Aeroflot expects receiving one more A330-300.

The А330 aircraft have flying range of up to 10,500 km, can accommodate 302 passengers and are used by leading international carriers in the long-haul segment. The aircraft are equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent 772B engines.

The new airliners are delivered to Aeroflot on a two-class layout with 34 business-class and 268 economy-class seats. The aircraft have the cutting-edge Panasonic eX 2 IFE system with wide-screen 9-16’’ video-monitors in each armchair, allowing the use of a multi-channel video-audio program. The business class compartment has comfortable folding ‘cocoon’ armchairs. The economy-class compartment has increased seat pitch for more comfortable accommodation of passengers.

Aeroflot operates А330s on both domestic and international routes.

Currently, A330s fly to Beijing, Habana, Vladivostok, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Bangkok.
