OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2010. Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation V.A. Olersky visited the seaport of Ust-Luga with a working trip. From a helicopter board V.A. Olersky examined terminals being constructed. After port facilities examination working meeting under the chairmanship of V.A. Olersky was held, reported the press-centre of Rosmorport.

Director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Ust-Luga branch A.A. Shtin, chief engineer of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Ust-Luga branch O.E. Maksimov, port administration representatives, heads of transshipment, construction and contracting companies took part in the meeting.

During the meeting issues on construction of bulk cargo complex, BPS-2 and bunkering complex were considered. Meeting participants also discussed preparation plan for interdepartmental commission for examination of reconstructed check point over the border of the Russian Federation within the limits of motorway part of motor and railway ferry complex at the seaport of Ust-Luga for its meeting the requirements of specifications for construction, reconstruction and technical equipment of buildings for borderline, customs and other kinds of control at check points over the border of the Russian Federation.

At the end of the meeting works of the seaport of Ust-Luga for 2009 were summed up. In 2009 almost 10,4 million tons of cargoes were transshipped, including 9,3 million tons of export cargoes, more than 1 million tons of cabotage cargoes and 30 thousand tons of import cargoes.
