OREANDA-NEWS. January 25, 2010. Gazprom informs that during the meeting the sides covered issues concerning the beginning of natural gas supplies to Russia, which are the first ones in the history of two countries’ co-operation.

The parties appraised high successfully realized arrangements and emphasized that Gazprom ad SOCAR were going to develop further energy Russia-Azerbaijan energy dialogue.

Miller reiterated specific feature of the valid contract – lack of top level in volumes of gas purchase in Azerbaijan and confirmed Gazprom’s readiness to buy as much gas as SOCAR is able to supply.

The outcome of the meeting was an arrangement that already this year Gazprom will buy two-fold more Azeri gas than it was supposed originally – 1 bn cu m instead of 500 million cu m and in 2011 the volume of gas supplies will double and reach approx. 2 bn cu m.
