OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2010. OAO Izhorskiye Zavody, part of OMZ Group, purchased LLC Izhorskiye Svarochniye Materialy enterprise, specializing in manufacturing of welding materials and fused fluxes.

LLC Izhorskiye Svarochniye Materialy is the former electrode-flux production facility of Izhorskiye Zavody. In 2004, during the restructuring of Izhorskiye Zavody electrode-flux production and tool production were identified as a separate legal entity - LLC Instrel, sold, subsequently, to private investors. In 2008, the electrode-flux production was removed from LLC Instrel, becoming a separate legal entity - LLC Izhorskiye Svarochniye Materialy.

This unique production facility was created on Izhorskiye Zavody in 1979 to provide special purpose electrodes and welding fluxes of high purity welding products for nuclear power engineering.

Production output has always been used for welding of important structures working under high pressure, temperature, seismic pressure, corrosion, radiation. The task of raising the quality of electrodes and fluxes, improving their production technology were decided in close collaboration with leading industry research organizations in the country, such as the CRISM Prometey, CNIITMASH etc.

The company currently produces over 70 types of electrodes and 20 types of flux. The company's products can be demanded not only by Izhorskiye Zavody, but enterprises of other sectors of the North-West Russia and all over the country.

Returning of previously lost from the technological chain of production by Izhorskiye Zavody is a result of the balanced policy of the shareholders, aimed at strengthening the technological capabilities of their industrial assets by effectively investing in the rehabilitation of productive capacity of enterprises, their re-equipment and modernization, and development of technology.
