Freight One’s Irkutsk Branch Increases Oil Haulage to Kozmino
OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2010. Freight One hauled more than 30,000 tons of crude oil along the Skovorodino Station — Kozmino Oil Port route in the first ten days of January 2010 as part of a project called Eastern Siberia — Pacific Ocean (ESPO) to haul Russian oil to the Asia-Pacific region.
Since the deliveries began in November 2009, the company has hauled more than 150,000 tons of oil to Primorye Territory for export. More than 28,000 tons were hauled in November, and this was followed by an increase to 95,000 in December 2009. A train of 50—60 cars typically takes 10 days to travel from Skovorodino the Kozmino and back.
"Despite heavy snowfalls and severe frosts in Transbaikalia and Primorye Territory, we are able to maintain uninterrupted provision of cars for the route," said Valery Yakhimovich, Director of Freight One’s Irkutsk branch.
Three oil tank cars have been hauled to Kozmino Oil Port since it opened. The first one was sent from the port at the end of December 2009, and the other two left Kozmino in early 2010. The fourth tank car is currently being loaded.
