OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2010. Based on results of the airline rating organized by the independent internet portal "Airlines Inform" specializing in the airline business, "Air Moldova" was announced as the best airline 2009 in CIS, reported the press-centre of Air Moldova.

In general classification, "Air Moldova" is on 17th place, on top of many of very important airlines from Europe and USA. The best airline is "Etihad Airways" from UAE, on second place is south Korean airline "Korean Air" and on third – "Singapore Airlines".

The internet portal visitors from Russian Federation voted for preferred airline in period of time between 01 of August 2007 and 31 of December 2010. There were 20276 votes for 648 airlines. This information is dated with 13.01.2010.

"Air Moldova" airline, following the results of 12 months 2009, transported about 402 000 passengers, repeating the result of 2008 from witch 2000 were transit passengers carried via hub in Chisinau. Implemented airline marketing initiatives, attracted new, not previously existed on the airline market in Moldova, passengers who used the flights "Air Moldova" from Moscow and St.-Petersburg to Europe and vice versa by stopping over in the Chisinau International Airport that becomes a transit airport.

"Air Moldova" carries out flights in 16 direct directions – Frankfurt, Vienna, Bucharest, Istanbul, Lisbon, Madrid, London, Athens, Larnaca, Rome, Milan, Verona, Paris, Prague, Moscow and St.-Petersburg. On a share "Air Moldova" have more than 50 % of air transportations registered on the moldavian market.
