OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2010. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) sent a letter to the Government of the Russian Federation, with information regarding investigation of the case against "Silvinit" OJSC, "Uralkalii" OJSC and "Mineral Trading" Ltd., reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 21st December 2009, FAS Russia finalized the case on antimonopoly violations in the market of potash chloride.

The decision of the FAS Russia's Commission outlines that in 2009 economically justified price for potash chloride, distributed by producers of complex mineral fertilizers does not exceed 3755 Rubles per ton (w/o VAT). This price is indicative for calculating the price for potash chloride for 2010.

FAS Russia issued determinations to "Silvinit" OJSC, "Uralkalii" OJSC and "Mineral Trading" Ltd.to sign by 1st February 2010 contracts with consumers of potash chloride at economically justified prices.

"The Government of the Russian Federation repeatedly expressed its concerns regarding the level of prices for potash chloride supplied to the domestic market. We have informed the Government about particular decisions made by FAS Russia, which are aimed at stabilizing the situation", said Andrey Tsyganov, Deputy Head of FAS Russia.
