OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2010. Elman Rustamov, the chairman of board of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, stated that net surplus of country’s payment balance for 2009 on current settlements totaled US 16 bn against expectations at the level of US 11 bn.

“It happened, despite 1/5-fold decline of world oil prices (from US 90 to US 62 per barrel). At the same time fall of word oil price by US 10 per barrel leads to the fact that Azerbaijan short-receives US 2 bn,” Rustamov emphasized.
