Moldova Switched to New Tariffs for Gas, Heat and Electricity
OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2010. The new tariffs have come into force after publication in “Monitorul Oficial” of the decision adopted by ANRE to bring the tariffs in line with the actual cost of services.
The tariffs’ growth was mainly due to the increase from January 1, 2010 the purchasing price of the Russian natural gas from US192 up to US 233 per 1 thousand cubic meters, change in the leu exchange rate vs. U.S. dollar and other objective factors. According to ANRE's decision, the average tariff of the natural gas to consumers has been increased by 13,9% - up to 3542 leis (excluding VAT) per 1 thousand cubic meters.
At the same time, the price of the gas for HEC has increased by 10% - up to 3016 leis per 1 thousand cubic meters and for population- by 16,5% - up to 3842 leis. The consumers with monthly consumption up to 30 cubic meters the price of the gas will pay 3,574 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters and those consuming more than 30 cubic meters- 3992 leis, respectively.
The prices for electricity supplied to consumers by RED Union Fenosa (Chisinau, Central, Southern electricity distribution network) have increased by 21% - from 1.1 leis up to 1.33 leis for 1 kWh. The price of electricity supplied by the companies RED-Nord and RED-Vest, has increased by 19,2% - from 1.2 leis up to 1.43 leis. The tariff for heat supplied by Termocom, has grown by 29,3% - from 540 up to 699 leis per 1 Gcal.
