ANRE Would Oblige Publicly Argue Proposed Increase in Tariffs
OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2010. ANRE would oblige the operators of the energy market of Moldova publicly argue the proposed increase in tariffs prior to filing necessary documents to the agency. This was announced at the press conference by the ANRE director Mariana Botezatu, noting that in this way it is planned to ensure full transparency in the agency’s decision-making when establishing the new rates.
In addition, the companies operating at the energy market will be obliged to provide more detailed information about their activities. Mariana Botezatu noted that this new element in the tariff setting process was borrowed from the practice of the EU member countries. As the general director of ANRE Victor Parlicov has noted, this innovation will increase transparency in the activities of the agency when revising tariffs and will enable the public to know about the proposal on the new tariff setting coming from operators of the energy market of Moldova.
"This will allow avoiding rumors that these issues are resolved in the agency secretly and the prices are sucked from the finger. The operators will have to explain why they want to raise rates ", - said Victor Parlicov. He noted that the new tariffs for the natural gas, heat and electricity approved on January 14 were as low as possible, and that initially energy companies were in favor of setting higher rates.
