FAS Found Sochi-AVIA-Invest Violated Law
OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2010. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in Khakassia (OFAS Russia) found that "Sochi-AVIA-Invest" CJSC violated the antimonopoly law, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
The company was fixing monopolistically high prices for the services of aviation fuel supply to aircrafts in "Abakan" airport (Clause 1 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition").
The case was initiated upon a petition of "Vladivostok-AVIA" OJSC.
From 1st July 2009, "Sochi-AVIA-Invest" CJSC fixed the price for integrated services of aviation fuel supply to aircrafts in "Abakan" airport at 5,675 Rubles per ton. Contract relations, buyers and sellers composition and product circulation conditions in the market in questions did not change. Having analyzed the documents, information and expense report for the ten months of 2009, the Khakassia OFAS Russia found that the price fixed by "Sochi-AVIA-Invest" CJSC for the services of aviation fuel supply to aircrafts in "Abakan" airport was monopolistically high price as it exceeded the expenses, necessary to perform and sell such services, and profit.
The Khakassia OFAS Russia issued a determination to "Sochi-AVIA-Invest" CJSC to stop busing market dominance and transfer the income obtained as a result of the antimonopoly violation to the federal budget.
"Following the determination of OFAS Russia, fuel-and-refueling facilities must cut down refueling prices which will automatically reduce transportation costs. As a result, the passenger air fares will go down. These measures will increase access to transportation for the population", said Anatoly Golomolzin, Deputy Head of FAS Russia.
