OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2010. In 2009 the level of unemployment in Nakhodka didn’t change and made up 1.7 %. It is less than the average level of unemployment in Primorsky Krai by half. That was reported by the specialists of the "Center of employment of the population of Nakhodka".

In 2009 the world financial crisis exerted negative influence on the world economic situation. But in spite of this, it didn’t affect the situation at the labor market of Nakhodka. On January, 1, 2009 the number of unemployed people registered in the Center of employment of the population made up 1,744 people, but one year later that number reduced to 1,540 people. According to the words of the specialists of the Center, the level of registered unemployment changed several times during a year, but it finally made up 1.7 %. By the way, the lowest level of unemployment in 2009 made up 1.5%.

The construction of the specialized oil–loading sea port in Kozmino Bay played an important role in job placement of local residents. Moreover, program of additional measures on decrease of tension in the labor market helped workers who were under the threat of discharge to keep their jobs. Thanks to these measures 466 people could keep their jobs.
