Moldova Ranks 104th Place in Logistics Performance Index
OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2010. According to the Logistics Performance Index 2010 (LPI), the biggest challenges faced by Moldova are competence in logistics and logistics quality (transport operators, customs brokers, etc.). In this part Moldova ranks 132 with 2,05 points.
At the same time, effectiveness and transparency of the customs structures in Moldova (speed and ease of customs procedures, quality of customs services operators) was estimated by only 2.11 points – 124th place. As regards infrastructure, our country ranks 123 and is located between Algeria and Mozambique. In the WB ranking, Moldova is ahead of Uganda (66), Peru (67), Honduras (70) and Bangladesh (79).
At the same time, Moldova is ahead of Armenia (111), Turkmenistan (114), Congo (116) and Tajikistan (131). Romania ranks 59, Ukraine - 102, Russia - 94. The first place is taken by Germany, followed by Singapore, Sweden, Holland, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Japan. At the opposite pole of the rating are: Somalia (155 place), Eritrea (154), Sierra Leone, Namibia, Rwanda, Kenya and Guinea-Bissau. In 2010, the logistics rating of WB included 155 countries. The last such rating was developed in 2007.
According to the index of logistics-2007, Moldova has taken 106 place in the world in the field of logistics development.
