OREANDA-NEWS. January 15, 2010. Southern Telecommunications Company (UTK) [(RTS: KUBN, KUBNP; МICEX: UTEL, UTELP; ADR OTC: STJSY, KUE FRA)], the largest fixed-line operator in the Southern Federal District of Russia, hereby announces that rating agency Standard&Poor’s has confirmed the corporate governance rating of UTK at CGR-5. 

At the same time, the operator’s Russian scale CGR was reaffirmed at 5.4.  According to the general director of URK Alexander Shupulin, Standard&Poor’s corporate governance rating has for several years objectively measured the company’s corporate governance track record.  The present rating assignment has fully accomplished the task by confirming the high level of corporate governance at UTK among telecom peers.
