OREANDA-NEWS. January 13, 2010. Azerbaijan is optimistic in regard to negotiations with Turkey on  the price for gas supplied to it.

President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev said that at present the negotiations are held over explosion of gas pipeline proceed and certain progress is observed in the negotiations.

Negotiations between SOCAR and Turkish BOTAS are held concerning export of Azerbaijan gas within the framework of Stage-2, development of Shah-Deniz field, as well as   change of price for gas, sold to Turkey within the framework of Stage -1 of development of this field.

The issue concerning Stage -1 has emerged due to the fact that gas tariffs should have been calculated through new formula since April 15, 2008.
