First Container Terminal Operated in Force-Majeure Situation
OREANDA-NEWS. January 12, 2010. Due to heavy snowfalls in St. Petersburg, First Container Terminal was operating in a force-majeure situation since 25th December until 31th December.
The company is making every effort to come back to normal operation and to provide timely container delivery for our clients. First of all FCT clears up snow drifts that block moving of handling equipment and, as a consequence of this, container pickup. The terminal uses every operating snow-removal equipment and additional machinery.
To minimize losses of our customers, FCT provides five-day free storage period without regressive calculation for the dry import containers customs cleared within the period from 25 to 31 December, 2009. For reefer containers customs cleared within the same period, a 50% discount of the storage rate has been announced.
