OREANDA-NEWS. January 12, 2010. Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has an Intention to suggest that the Parliament overcomes the Veto of the President of Ukraine put on the Law on Agricultural Lands Sale Moratorium Suspension for the Term of Two Years, reported the Official website portal.rada.gov.ua.
 
"19 January 2012 I suggested that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine upheld the Bill that prohibits agricultural lands sale until the year 2012", - V. Lytvyn declared on Tuesday in Bohuslav town giving comments regarding the issue on the President?s veto put on this Law.
 
"I am convinced that the Head of the State is supposed to defend the interests of the people and do not advocate the so-called "businessmen" that obtained lands illegally and wait the moment to legalize their shady transactions, - the Head of the Parliament stated. I may declare the only thing: swindlers would not receive the right to buy the land for nothing."
 
According to V. Lytvyn, today the specialists proves that it is impossible to introduce the land market now as "first of all, there are no mechanisms of land evaluation, second of all, people working on this lands have no funds to pay market prices for it. People are near the poverty line now."
 
V. Lytvyn expressed thought that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is obliged to overcome the veto. "Otherwise I would insist on roll-call vote with publishing of its results", - he declared.
 
"There would be no sale of the agricultural lands. It is the same as sale our parents and their memory. The land is supposed to be in the property of those who work and live here", - V. Lytvyn is convinced.
 
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine took part in the opening of the freight house terminal in Bohuslav town.
 
"It means that the life is being renewed, in particular it concerns the economic one. Opening of this freight house terminal is in the interests of the town residents as they would be able to ship the enterprises production they work for", - he announced.
