Estonian Cell Wants to Slightly Increase Production Volume
OREANDA-NEWS. January 12, 2010. The Estonian Kunda aspen pulp facility Estonian Cell wants to increase its output by 4 percent compared with last year.
Estonian Cell board member Riia Ratnik told BNS that the demand for aspen pulp was high at the moment. But during the year there could be some unevenness due to the instability of paper manufacturers.
Ratnik said that last year Estonian Cell sold a record amount - 147,600 tons of pulp. "But the price level is rather low," Ratnik added.
The total volume of production in 2009 was 138.600 tons and Ratnik said that Estonian Cell was one of few pulp makers that had not been forced to cut back production due to the market. At present production in Estonian Cell continues at full pace, she said.
The total output of Estonian Cell in 2008 was 137,000 tons and 135,000 tons in 2007.
Owners of the company are Heinzel Group and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
