OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2010. The number of plastic cards issued by the National Bank of Uzbekistan (NBU) made up over 1,724,000. NBU cards are applied as a payment means in more than 5,240 trading service enterprises of Uzbekistan.

The number of terminals installed in trading service enterprises increased twice in comparison with the similar period of the last year and made up more than 6,100 units.

The results of card holders' poll as well as nearness of shops to the enterprises and organizations which concluded contracts with NBU on salary projects are considered for further definition of new places for terminals location. Currently, the total number of salary projects introduced by the bank has reached 6,080.

The customers can pay for all public utilities, mobile communication, as well as to carry out calculations for goods and services in numerous trade service enterprises, reception of available resources in banks and cash dispensers.

In 2009 the National bank established info-stalls and located them in popular places and banks for receiving payments by cards. From the beginning of this year the volume of payments received from individuals made up 75 billion soums, 1.4 times more than for the similar period of 2008.
