Belarus Adopted Action Plan on Social and Economic Development
OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2010. The Council of Ministers and the National Bank have approved a joint action plan aimed at reaching the goals outlined by the social and economic development forecast, the budget law and Belarus’ Major Monetary Management Guidelines for 2010. The relevant decision is laid down by resolution No 1750/20, reported the Official website government.by.
The document was passed in wake of Decree No 595 “Adoption of the most important parameters of Belarus’ social and economic development forecast for 2010” of 7 December 2009 as well as the 2010 national budget law.
The joint action plan of the Government and the National Bank specifies the main areas where general systematic economic measures will be taken to reach Belarus’ development goals this year. The joint action plan zeroes in on liberalizing the operation terms and maximum empowerment of the initiative of corporations and their management. Specific actions are laid down as far as pricing, financial, investment and innovation policies are concerned as well as the regulation of foreign trade and the consumer market. Measures have been stipulated to finance housing construction and improve the management of state property. Attention is paid to developing small and medium business and business operation terms.
The Belarus Government has come up with measures to ensure the average salary of at least Br1.5 million by the end of 2010. The measures are part of the joint action plan. Apart from that, the document will be an addition to the import substitution and export development programs, which are being implemented in 2010, as well as plans to advance Belarus into the top thirty countries with the best business operation terms, plans to adjust the legislation to bring it closer to international financial accounting standards.
